The Keys

Four aspects to achieving and maintaining a healthy, fit body are:

Nutrition:
What you eat, when you eat it, and how much you eat of it. A nutrition program will be critical to your success in losing weight. The right nutrition plan will stimulate your metabolism while feeding and promoting muscle growth and, at the same time, starving fat cells.
Cardiovascular Training:
Working out your heart – and burning calories by moving your body ex: walking, jogging, swimming, aerobics…things that make you sweat.
Resistance Training:
Including Weight training with free weights, Weight machines, resistance bands, exercise balls, and even your own body weight – anything that gives your muscles resistance to work against. And finally…
Accountability and Motivation.
The number one reason most people fail in achieving their weight loss and fitness goals is because they fail to make it a lifestyle. This is where accountability and motivation are most useful. when your trying to lose body fat and build muscle, you have to be very consistent with training and nutrition. If you cheat on your meal plan or skip work outs, you'll constantly be taking one step forward, one step back and never make significant progress.
Whether you try it yourself, or work with a professional fitness trainer, you must apply the most up to date nutrition, cardiovascular training and resistance training information available to you. Further, if you work with a fitness trainer you can be 100% confident that your weight loss and fitness program is specifically created to give you maximum results in minimum time.

Target Your Efforts

Try using the T.A.R.G.E.T strategy to ensure success:

Your weight workouts should incorporate variety and foster individual and competitive challenges.

Authority

Be accountable to someone or something, even if it's your training journal.

Recognition

Reward yourself for effort and improvement

Grouping

Try working out with others occasionally

Evaluation

Look back in your training journal to see how you've progressed.

Time

Establish a schedule to reach your goals.
